Wandegar

Engineered façades. Considered architecture.

A second skin for the building envelope, shaped by the architect’s vision and engineered for performance.

Wandegar specialises in the design and engineering of ventilated façade systems, bringing more than 20 years of experience to architectural projects where material, structure and performance need to work together.

Working with architects, developers and contractors, Wandegar develops façade systems around the requirements of each project, from the supporting structure and fixing method through to the external finish.

PietraCasa works with Wandegar to bring engineered façade systems together with large-format porcelain surfaces, creating complete solutions for contemporary architectural envelopes.

Designed for every surface

Ventilated Façade

A façade system designed to support large-format ceramic surfaces while creating a ventilated cavity between the external finish and the building structure.

Wandegar's ventilated systems combine the architectural freedom of large-format surfaces with a considered supporting structure, developed around the requirements of each project.

Ceramic Ceilings

Extending ceramic surfaces beyond the wall and façade, Wandegar's ceiling systems create durable architectural finishes for interior and exterior applications.

Large-format ceramic can be incorporated into overhead surfaces while maintaining a consistent material language across the wider project.

Raised Floors

A raised floor system that combines the durability and design flexibility of ceramic surfaces with an accessible supporting structure beneath.

The system allows services and infrastructure to be accommodated below the finished surface, providing a practical solution for architectural and external applications.

Bonded Façade

A streamlined façade solution where ceramic surfaces are bonded to the supporting substrate, creating a clean architectural finish with minimal visible fixing.

Suitable for projects where the surface itself is intended to define the façade, the system provides an alternative to mechanically fixed ventilated construction.

Did you know?

Wandegar approaches façade engineering from the system outward. Rather than treating the external surface as a standalone finish, its solutions consider the ceramic surface, supporting structure and fixing method as one architectural envelope.

The collaboration with Inalco on Agora Valencia demonstrates this approach. Developed for the World Design Capital Valencia 2022 pavilion, the façade uses Inalco MDi from the Silk Blanco collection, with Wandegar developing the technical envelope behind the ceramic skin.

This shifts the possibilities beyond conventional façade construction. Large-format MDi surfaces can become part of a lightweight, modular façade system, allowing the material to shape the character of the building while the engineering works quietly behind it.

In practice, this creates greater freedom in how ceramic surfaces are used across architecture, from ventilated façades and bonded applications to ceilings and raised floors. A more integrated approach to material and façade engineering, where the surface and the system are considered together from the beginning.
