SapienStone brand logo, manufacturer of premium ceramic surfaces supplied by PietraCasa.

SapienStone was founded in 2016 as the first ceramic brand in the world created specifically for kitchen worktops. Where most ceramic surfaces are adapted from floor and wall tile ranges, SapienStone was designed from the outset around the specific requirements of the kitchen surface.

All slabs are produced at 160x320cm, in 12mm and 20mm thicknesses. 4D Ceramics technology extends the full-body material through the entire thickness and adds a tactile surface dimension. Surfaces are heat-resistant to direct pan contact, scratch-resistant, stain-resistant and non-porous. NSF and Kosher certifications confirm suitability for direct food contact.

SapienStone partnered with TPB Topporzelanik Barcelona to integrate invisible induction hob technology directly into the worktop surface. The Breccia Rosa 4D, Muschelkalk and Travessa collections, launched in 2026, introduce three further material identities to the range.

SapienStone is the only ceramic brand built entirely around the requirements of the kitchen worktop. All slabs are produced at 1600×3200mm in 12mm and 20mm thicknesses, NSF and Kosher certified for direct food contact, heat-resistant and non-porous.

The TPB partnership integrates invisible induction hob technology directly into the worktop surface, sitting flush and invisible within the ceramic when not in use.

4D Ceramics

4D Ceramics joins the three spatial dimensions of the slab with a fourth: sustainable technology. Veining, colour and pattern run through the full 12mm or 20mm thickness with no distinction between surface and edge.

In 2025, 4D Ceramics won the innovation prize at the Premios Interiores in Madrid. Production uses green hydrogen, making SapienStone one of the most sustainably produced ceramic worktop surfaces available.

SapienStone slabs are specified for vanity tops, washbasin units and shower surfaces. Non-porous, resistant to all standard bathroom chemicals and requiring no sealing or surface treatment.

The same collection used for the kitchen worktop carries directly into the bathroom vanity top, creating a consistent material language across a project without any change in surface.

Did you know?

SapienStone was built on a single observation: the kitchen worktop is the most technically demanding surface in any domestic or commercial space, and no ceramic brand had previously been created specifically to address its requirements. 4D Ceramics technology produces a full-body material with through-body veining, a tactile surface dimension and a format large enough to resolve kitchen islands as a single continuous surface.

SapienStone's collaborations reinforce its position at the serious end of the kitchen market. The partnership with designer Jaime Beriestain produced the Dress Code collection, a refined line of ceramic surfaces for luxury living and commercial spaces. The integration with TPB induction technology allows cooking zones to sit flush and invisible within the SapienStone worktop. The Diesel Living creative partnership brings an urban aesthetic to selected surface collections. At KBIS 2026, SapienStone won the Best Product Award, presented in collaboration with sister brand Stonepeak.

In practice, SapienStone is relevant wherever a kitchen specification calls for the highest quality porcelain worktop. Collections work naturally alongside kitchen brands including Boffi, Dada, Valcucine and Poliform.
