Founded in 2008, Terratinta is the youngest company within PietraCasa’s portfolio and they have shown themselves to be very responsive to market trends by developing four distinct brands – Terratinta, Ceramica Magica, Sartoria and Micro.

The Terratinta brand is geared toward Northern Europe design. Ceramica Magica is well-rounded and well-regarded brand within Italy after being in existence for nearly 40 years before it joined the Terratinta Group. Sartoria is design-focussed, creating unique and often handmade collections that allow designers to innovate. And finally Micro, provides a beautiful palette of colours in a variety of sizes that enable a strong architectural aesthetic.

In 2023, Terratinta was acquired by the Italcer Group, which has solidified Terratinta’s place in the industry and its ability to support its partners, including PietraCasa.

Designed for every surface

Kitchen

Terratinta Group produces surfaces in formats from 10x10cm through to 120x260cm and at thicknesses of 6mm, 10mm and 20mm, covering kitchen floors, walls and splashbacks across all four brands. The 6mm Light format extends the range to thin-slab applications for wall cladding and furniture.

The restrained tonal palette of Terratinta Ceramiche and the richer craft quality of Sartoria offer different routes to the same goal: a kitchen surface with genuine character.

Premium floor and wall surfaces curated to enhance physical scale and natural light. Key collections like Lagom, Norse, and Stonedesign deliver a sophisticated palette of realistic stones and minimalist concretes.

Sartoria's artisan ranges bring a unique, handmade character to feature walls. For striking architectural layouts, the Micro brand provides a sharp color palette and structural 3D formats.

Outdoor

20mm thick outdoor surfaces from Terratinta Group are frost-resistant and designed for terraces, garden paving and sheltered exterior applications. Collections coordinate with interior ranges, allowing the same material language to carry from inside to outside.

The Micro brand's small-format surfaces are also well suited to outdoor feature walls, steps and architectural detail work where a finer scale is appropriate.

Coordinated floor and wall collections across the Terratinta group allow bathrooms to be resolved in a consistent material from floor to ceiling. Sartoria's handmade wall tile collections are particularly well suited to bathrooms where the brief calls for something with tactile quality and visual depth.

Non-slip finishes are available across the range and 20mm outdoor formats extend several collections to include external shower areas and pool surrounds.

Did you know?

Terratinta Group is distinct in how it has built its portfolio. Rather than expanding a single brand across more and more collections, the group has developed four brands with genuinely different design identities and kept them distinct. Terratinta Ceramiche, Ceramica Magica, Sartoria and Micro do not overlap. Each one addresses a different design register, and together they cover a range of project types that a single brand rarely can.

This shifts how the group works in practice. A design studio with varied project types can find relevant material across all four brands without leaving the portfolio. The warm minimalism of Terratinta Ceramiche suits one kind of project. The handmade craft quality of Sartoria suits another. The architectural precision of Micro suits another still. The range is coherent because each brand is genuinely itself.

In practice, this makes Terratinta Group one of the more interesting portfolios to work with. The quality of thinking behind each brand is evident in the collections themselves, and the group's B Corp certification reflects a commitment to sustainable production that goes beyond marketing. A more honest and characterful approach to ceramic design, with real craft values behind it.
