Ariostea
Full-body porcelain.
Vanguard by tradition.
Supplied in the UK by PietraCasa.
A founding brand of Iris Ceramica Group, producing full-body porcelain stoneware in large-format slabs since 1961.
Ariostea has been producing porcelain stoneware in Fiorano Modenese since 1961. As a brand within Iris Ceramica Group, it focuses on large-format slabs and surfaces developed through close material research.
The Ultra range is Ariostea's core large-format offer, producing slabs in sizes from 75x75cm through to 300x150cm at 6mm thickness. Collections span marble, stone, concrete, wood and metal effects, each developed through close material research rather than trend forecasting. The Classics range offers more conventional formats at 8mm thickness for projects where standard tile sizes are more appropriate. Fragmenta full-body technology, developed within the Iris Ceramica Group, means the aesthetic pattern continues through the entire thickness of the slab, so cut edges and profiled details read as consistently as the face.
The Mura collection, presented at Cersaie 2025, reinterprets concrete and construction materials through the precision of porcelain stoneware, translating the raw power of cement and iron into a contemporary architectural language. Ultra Marmi adds large-format marble-effect surfaces including the Travertino range, with three colourways that replicate the vein-cut effect of natural travertine at architectural scale. PietraCasa supplies Ariostea as part of its Iris Ceramica Group portfolio. For projects where a specific brand within the group is most appropriate, we can advise on whether Ariostea, Fiandre, FMG or another group brand is the right starting point.
Designed for every surface
Kitchen
Ultra slabs at 300x150cm allow kitchen floors and wall cladding to be resolved with minimal joints and strong visual continuity. The Fragmenta technology means cut edges and worktop profiles read consistently with the face of the slab, which is relevant where countertop profiles are exposed.
Furniture
6mm Ultra slabs are used for cabinetry cladding, door panels and furniture surfaces. The low weight and consistent through-body material allow surfaces to be applied to furniture elements with the same precision as floor and wall installation.
Surfaces
Ariostea's outdoor range coordinates with interior collections, allowing the same material to carry from the interior floor to the external terrace. Large-format slabs are also used for ventilated facade systems, where the full-body material performs well in external conditions.
Bathroom
Coordinated floor and wall collections in Ultra and Classics formats allow bathrooms to be resolved in a single material throughout. Active Surfaces technology, available across selected Ariostea collections, provides antibacterial and self-cleaning performance in wet environments.

Did you know?
Ariostea builds collections from a founding principle: that the best porcelain surfaces develop their own material identity rather than simply imitating something else. The Ultra large-format range, with slabs up to 300x150cm, is the clearest expression of this. Fragmenta full-body technology resolves the edge problem that limited earlier large-format ceramic, opening up applications in furniture, joinery and architectural detailing where exposed edges are part of the design.
Collaborations within the Iris Ceramica Group have produced some significant technical outcomes for the Ariostea range. The partnership with VBH produced Alchimia, a system that integrates high-definition monitors and audio directly into ceramic slabs. Lighting designer Davide Groppi collaborated on immersive lighting scenographies for Ariostea flagship showrooms. Paolo Castelli worked with the brand on exclusive bathroom and wellness furnishings, previewed within Iris Ceramica Group spaces.
In practice, Ariostea surfaces are relevant for high-specification residential and hospitality projects where large-format material precision is central to the brief. Collections like Ultra Marmi Travertino work naturally alongside bathroom furniture from Minotti and Flexform, and the full-body slab offer is particularly suited to architects and design studios where surface continuity across floors, walls and furniture is a design requirement.
